Emergency Medical Services in Värmland is Hiring Alarm Operators

Your Workplace

The Emergency Medical Services in Värmland, RVLLC, is a newly established unit located in Karlstad. Annually, approximately 55,000 ambulance missions are carried out in Värmland for the region's nearly 300,000 inhabitants. We always work with a patient focus and create good conditions for employees within healthcare. Our goal is to always have a safe patient who knows the next step in the care chain. The unit operates in newly renovated premises with modern technology.

Your Responsibilities

Your main task as an alarm operator will be to direct Region Värmland's various types of pre-hospital resources such as ambulances, assessment units, and helicopters. The work will be conducted at Region Värmland's alarm and command center. You will work in a strong team together with nurses who have extensive experience and knowledge of Värmland's healthcare offerings.

The emergency calls you will dispatch may range from acute medical cases, traffic accidents to less urgent medical issues. Your task is to work with your team to send the right resource at the right time to the right place, all with the goal of ensuring a safe patient who knows the next step in the care chain. You should be able to collaborate with your team in the traffic room and your colleagues out in the field. The work will also involve collaboration with the police and rescue services.

The positions are summer temporary jobs based in Karlstad.

Your Skills and Competencies

You should be a trained nursing assistant and/or have previous experience working at an alarm center, with at least three years of professional experience. If you have pre-hospital experience from healthcare and/or experience from working at an alarm center and experience in ambulance dispatching, it is particularly meritorious.

You are someone who works with a clear patient focus and has good knowledge of Region Värmland's healthcare. The work as an alarm operator means you should be flexible and willing to work in an intensive environment where the work can vary from day to day. You always want to help patients and can collaborate with different actors and colleagues.

We are looking for someone who wants to be at the center of events and help people in need. It is important that you are good at collaborating between different healthcare providers, all to help the patient in the best way possible. You will be involved in creating good conditions for the staff working pre-hospital, and a prerequisite is that you want to work together as a team and contribute to continuous improvements and develop the unit and its work methods.

You master the Swedish language fully in both spoken and written form and have good knowledge of English. You should have good computer skills and master the basics of the most common Office programs. We work in an IT-intensive environment with several different systems that you will receive training in upon employment, therefore a prerequisite is that you, as an applicant, have an easy time learning new computer systems. We place great importance on personal suitability and appreciate humility, clarity, and accuracy.
